Arrowing Weekend. What a great crew we had! So many people that I couldn’t keep track to count them all. All of the Section Leaders, including the Youth Enduro Trailboss and his wife and kids, were putting the final touches on their respective trails and arrowing the woods. Weed whips were humming everywhere, DR brushcutters were knocking down stuff, hedge trimmers were cutting brush, nippers were nipping, Zubats were cutting, staplers were stapling. The only fly in the ointment was that I put the wrong date (8-24 instead of 8-25) on the “Event” signs that got posted all over the place. John Otto was good enough to go out and correct ’em all on Sunday with a fat marker.
The woods is good and dry with almost all of the normally wet spots a mere shadow of their former selves. Looks like it is raining up there this morning, which is a good thing. Unless we get a monsoon rain, a forest fire or a tornado blows through the Nemadji, it’s gonna be a good Enduro!
